In late 2020, I made the decision that it was time for me to take my fitness, health, and wellness to the next level.

I spent time revamping my morning/evening routines and tried many different products to improve the quality of my sleep.

Beam Dream is a Nighttime CBD blend that claims to improve quality of sleep and also provide your body with sleep improving vitamins and minerals.

I’ve used Beam Dream for nearly 1.5 years and in this review I will share key details on the product and also my opinion on whether this CBD product is worth your time.

Beam Dream Review

What is Beam Dream?

Beam Dream is a Nighttime CBD blend produced by Beam Organics. Beam has many different products including CBD capsules and powders for specific purposes (Recovery, Focus, Sleep, etc).

Simply mix the powder in hot liquid of your choice (water, milk, etc) and enjoy 30-60 minutes prior to going to sleep.

Beam Dream is currently sold in a Cinnamon Cacao flavor which tastes fairly similar to a hot chocolate drink with a dash of cinnamon.

Ingredients & Nutritional Info

Beam Dream packs in a delicious chocolate cinnamon flavor and also offers sleep improving vitamins (as well as CBD) in a low calorie drink.

One of the top reasons that I like Beam Dream is the simplicity of the ingredients. As you will see below, there are just 8 total ingredients and it is 5 calories per serving. This makes it a no-brainer to have before sleep as there is no concern about consuming unnecessary calories right before bed.

Fans of Andrew Huberman may be familiar with his recommendation 100-400mg of L-Theanine in his “Toolkit for Sleep” and Beam Dream includes 300mg of L-Theanine per serving.

Here are the key things to know about Beam Dream ingredients and nutritional Info:

  • 5 calories per serving (1 Scoop)
  • 30 servings per pouch
  • 20mg Broad Spectrum Nano CBD (THC Free)
  • Vitamins & Minerals:
    • Reishi
    • Magnesium (31mg)
    • L-Theanine (300mg)
    • Melatonin (3mg)
  • Gluten Free, No Sugar Added, Dairy Free, Non-GMO, Keto Friendly
  • Full Ingredient List:
    • Cocoa Powder, Coconut Milk Powder, Tapioca Starch, Vanilla Powder, Monk Fruit Extract, Broad Spectrum Nano CBD Powder, Cinnamon, and Sunflower Lecithin

Taste & Texture

While I was drawn to Beam Dream because of the potential benefits of CBD prior to sleep, I have to admit I was also just as drawn by the idea of having a delicious chocolate drink each night.

Taste was a super important factor for me in buying Beam CBD. If it didn’t taste good, I would rather just take a CBD capsule and get on with my night.

Upon opening the Beam Dream pouch, the first thing you will notice is that it is incredibly fragrant with smells of both chocolate and cinnamon. Bottom line, it smells delicious and you will want to taste it as soon as possible.

The powder is incredibly fine which makes it easy to mix in the hot liquid of your choice. While I would recommend using a simple handheld frother, you can just as easily mix the Beam Dream with a spoon and not have to worry about it clumping or consolidating at the bottom of your mug.

If you are a fan of hot chocolate in any capacity, you will love Beam Dream. It tastes like a mix between hot chocolate and a cinnamon drink. Overall, it is an excellent treat before bed and the taste is top notch for only being 5 calories.

One important note is that if you do not like cinnamon, you are not going to enjoy the taste of Beam Dream and should likely look elsewhere. This is a very cinnamon heavy drink, so keep that in mind prior to purchasing if you do not like cinnamon.

My only critique to the taste of Beam Dream is that it easily can be diluted if too much liquid is used. The directions recommend mixing with 6-8 ounces of hot water or warm milk, but I think the taste is a little too diluted with 8oz (I typically do 4-6oz).

Pricing and Value

With the top quality ingredients and delicious tastes of Beam Dream, you will pay a higher end price for this CBD nighttime blend.

Beam Dream costs $95 for a single order or $76 if you join their “Subscribe + save” program.

Over the course of the past 1.5 years, I have used the Beam “Suscribe + save” option to get Beam Dream at a cheaper price which works out to be about $2.53/serving.

One important thing to know is that Beam offers an excellent rewards program that helps make ordering Beam Dream more affordable.  You automatically accrue points through:

  • $1 Spent = 1 Point
  • 1 Review = 50 Points
  • Birthday Gift = 100 Points
  • 5 Purchases = 150 Points
  • Social Follow = 10 Points per Social

Beam is quite generous with the amount of points rewarded and I am regularly getting a $20-$40 reduction on my monthly subscription.

Along with a great rewards program, Beam has also sent me several cool items for free over the last 1.5 years that I use on a daily basis. This includes a cool glass container to store Beam Dream, a Beam branded glasses mug, and a frother.

All in all, I do feel that Beam attempts to go above and beyond to rewards their subscription members.

My Opinion and Experiences

After using Beam Dream for nearly 1.5 years, I can confidently say that it has been a positive addition to my evening routine.

It has become the “trigger” to kicking off my evening routine each night and something I genuinely look forward to. Just about 60 minutes prior to getting into bed, I will put on my Blue Blocker glasses and prepare my Beam Dream.

There is no doubt that Beam Dream makes me sleepy prior to getting into bed and I immediately fall asleep. It is really nice to genuinely feel sleepy and ready to go to bed the second your head hits the pillow.

With that said, I have never had serious sleep issues and typically always sleep well. In the future, I will do a test comparing my Whoop Recovery score with and without using Beam Dream prior to bed.

I really enjoy the taste of Beam Dream which is very important to me. It is a nice treat to have prior to bed and has minimal calorie impact on your day.

One minor critique that I have is that the packaging of Beam Dream could be improved. The pouch containing the powder is slim in profile which is nice, but it is somewhat of a challenge to scoop the powder at times. The bottom of the pouch bunches up making it challenging to get all of the powder available and then it is super easy to spill the powder. Luckily this can easily be fixed by using a mason jar to store your Beam Dream (or the free glass container they provide to members).

If I had to summarize the key Pros and Cons of Beam Dream after using for nearly 1.5 years, I would say:

Pros:

  • Simple Ingredients, 20mg CBD, and other sleep enhancing vitamins (Reishi, L-Theanine, Magnesium, Melatonin).
  • There is no doubt that I get sleepier prior to bed when taking Beam Dream
  • Tastes delicious, especially if mixed with warm milk

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • Easily diluted if mixed with too much liquid
  • The pouch itself is somewhat of a pain to scoop out of. It is hard to get the Beam Dream out of the bottom and is also easy to spill.
  • If you dislike Cinnamon, you probably will not like Beam Dream

Bottom Line

In summary, I recommend Beam Dream as a positive addition to your evening routine

Not only will it help you prioritize sleep, but it tastes delicious, is low calorie, and can be a foundation of a healthy evening routine to help you wind down each night.

While Beam Dream is somewhat expensive, the Subscribe + Save option makes it much more affordable and Beam offers a very good rewards program which helps to further reduce the monthly cost.

If you are interested in adding CBD to your daily routine, I highly recommend starting with Beam Dream prior to bedtime to improve your overall sleep.
